Hello, I am Alexandra!
Let me tell you about my journey into massage therapy.
I was born and raised in Portugal and have called Portland home for the last twenty years. I embraced the teaching profession for over two decades, teaching English as a Second Language to high school students. In 2012, I became a certified yoga instructor and have been teaching yoga to staff, students and private clients ever since. In 2016, my love for travel coupled with my desire to deepen my understanding of how to create harmony between body and mind, led me to spend two months in Thailand studying Traditional Thai Massage. This was a profound and transformational experience that changed the course of my professional life. I graduated from East West College of the Healing Arts in 2021 and since then have been working as a massage therapist in chiropractic settings, which allows me to expand my knowledge and experience working with athletes and folks with different health conditions and stress levels.
Touch is essential for life, for proper development and for good health in general. I have found that regular massage therapy along with a healthy lifestyle have been invaluable in helping me manage chronic pain and deal with everyday stress. I am fascinated with the complexity of each body and the challenge each client brings into the massage room. I like seeing stress dissolve with each calming breath a client takes.
I find great joy in being a part of each client’s healing process and to work collaboratively toward a client’s sense of well-being, better mobility, and a feeling of greater connectedness to their own body.
My massage style incorporates a combination of Swedish massage, deep tissue and myofascial release techniques, Craniosacral Therapy (CST), silicone cupping, gua sha, and Thai massage.
When I am not teaching or massaging, I am attending to Sam and Mia’s meows, traveling the world, learning new languages, cultures and people, rock climbing, scuba diving, dancing and singing.
